Pre-Masters of Digital Media Program

Program Overview

The Pre-Masters of Digital Media/English Language and Culture Program (Pre-MDM/ELC program) is an advanced English language training program customized for those interested in educational and career opportunities in the digital media industry. The program is also an academic pathway for prospective ESL students of the Masters of Digital Media (MDM) program. Offered jointly by Vancouver's Centre for Digital Media and Simon Fraser University’s Continuing Studies English Language and Culture Program, the Pre-MDM/ELC core curriculum includes specialized English language training and advanced IELTS (International English Language Testing System) preparation.

Who Should Register for the Pre-MDM?

The Pre-MDM/ELC Program is intended for students who are interested in both improving their English language skills as well as pursuing the Masters of Digital Media Program or other graduate degrees in the field of digital media, entertainment technology and/or gaming.  Students should be currently enrolled in their fourth year of undergraduate studies, or who have already completed an undergraduate degree program, or who are planning to apply to the MDM program. In all cases, students should be interested in improving their English language skills, and getting better acquainted with studying and working in Canada as they prepare for a career in digital media.

The Centre for Digital Media is located on the Great Northern Way Campus at 577 Great Northern Way, between Main Street (2nd Avenue) and Clark Street (6th Avenue). Look for the large "Centre for Digital Media" sign at the front of the building. To get to the Centre for Digital Media by public transit from SFU Harbor Centre, located in Downtown Vancouver at 100 East - 515 West Hastings Street, please refer to the following map:
