While in Canada it is possible to study for up to 6 months in an English or French language school with a visitor visa. You do not need a study permit if you are planning to study in Canada at a short-term program of six months or less in duration. However, you will require a Study Permit if you plan to study in Canada for longer than 6 months.
In order to apply for a Student Visa, you must go to the Canadian Embassy in your home country with an acceptance letter from an educational institution, along with your passport, and proof of funds available to you while in Canada. Some students may require a medical exam. For those who have been accepted to the Masters of Digital Media Program, you will require a Student Visa.
We will supply you with a Letter of Acceptance once you have paid the complete tuition for the period of time you are planning to study at the Pre-Masters of Digital Media/English Language and Culture Program.
To extend a Visa, you will need an extension kit. This can be obtained through a Citizenship and Immigration Canada office or from the ELC office.
