On September 14, 2007, the Centre for Digital Media and the Masters of Digital Media Program was officially launched. Premier Gordon Campbell, Dr. Gerri Sinclair, the Centre's executive director, and the school's students participated in the unveiling in both the real world and in the virtual world Second Life as more than 120 people looked on. Guests made up of government, industry and academia were then treated to a tour of the facility where students ­showcased their already impressive digital media skills.
