eduroam @ the Centre for Digital MediaWelcome to the Centre for Digital Media. We have provided a few guidelines on how to connect to the Eduroam wireless service at this campus using some of the more popular operating systems. | Operating Systems Supported: |

1. Ensure that your computer has Service Pack 3. a. Right-click on the My Computer icon on your Desktop or Start-menu. b. Select Properties. c. Look Service Pack 3 under the System heading.

2. Download and install SecureW2_TTLS_333.exe - then Reboot.
3. Click Start > Control Panel. ** First, switch to Classic View:
Choose Network Connections from the list: |

| 4. Right-click the Wireless Network Adaptor and choose Properties. | ![]() |
5. Choose the Wireless Networks tab. 6. Choose the Add button. | ![]() |
7. Association tab: a. Network Name (SSID): Eduroam b. Network Authentication: WPA2 c. Data Encryption: AES | ![]() |
8. Authentication tab: a. EAP type: SecureW2 TTLS b. Uncheck: Authenticate as computer when computer information is available.
c. Choose Properties button.
c.1. Choose the Configure button.
c.2. Connection tab: Uncheck Use alternate outer identity.
c.3. Certificates tab: Uncheck Verify server certificate.
c.4. Authentication tab: Select Authentication Method: PAP.
c.5. User Account: your assigned campus user name, Password: your assigned campus password.
c.6. Press the Advanced button and checkbox Allow users to setup new connections. |

9. Press OK to all dialogs and right-click your wireless network adaptor, choose View Available Wireless Networks.. Connect! | ![]() |

1. Click Start > Control Panel
** Select the View: Small Icons
Choose: Network and Sharing Center.

2. Choose: Set up a new connection or network from the lower area's tasks.

3. Choose: Manually connect to a wireless network from the list of options.

5. Network Profile Settings: a. Network Name: Eduroam b. Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise c. Encryption Type: AES d. Uncheck: Start this connection automatically.

6. Choose Change Connection Settings.
a. Choose the Security tab. b. Network Authentication method: Choose Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP). c. Choose Settings botton.
Uncheck Validate server certificate. Press OK to save.
d. Now, choose the Advanced button. e. Checkbox: Specify authentication mode: User Authentication.
7. Press OK to save all windows and return to the Desktop.

Click the Wireless icon in your computer's task bar (bottom right) and connect to Eduroam.

1. Open the System Preferences pane from the Apple menu.

2. Choose the Network pane.

| 3. Choose AirPort from the list on the left of the window. | ![]() |
| 4. Choose the Advanced button from the lower-right of the window. | ![]() |
| 5. Choose the 802.1X tab. | ![]() |
| 6. Press the " + " symbol and choose Add User Profile. | ![]() |
7. Name the profile Eduroam. a. Enter your home institutions e-mail or user ID in the form of: user_name@homeinstitution.com
b. Enter your assigned password.
c. Ensure both TTLS and PEAP are checked for Authentication.
d. Choose the Configure button immediately below the Authentication area. d.1. Ensure that your Inner Authentication is set to PAP. d.2. Enter your user name again and press OK to save.
g. Type in Eduroam for the Wireless Network field.
h. Ensure Security Type is set to WPA2 Enterprise and press OK to save changes. | ![]() |
| 8. Back on the main Network panel, press Connect beside the 802.1X: eduroam text. |
