The “Best of SIGGRAPH” was a very interesting amalgamation of short stories and artistry.  Many of them welded their stories and animations together with great skill and expertise.  I found it very profound how some short stories were used to bring awareness to some relevant issues of the world like waste and recycling, or the dilemma of abortion. I also found it interesting how some short clips were used to provide information about hurricanes and the life cycle of a salmon - hoping to promote interest in these subjects.
I think the best thing I can take away from watching the “Best of SIGGRAPH” is that the best movies were most often the ones with both a good storyline and good artistic style – if one was lacking, then it was very apparent that the story clip would suffer.  It was a collaboration of efforts which made the best short stories the best.
