Another "first" under the belt at the Centre for Digital Media. The school recently held their first annual student showcase, a night where the student body presents a highlight reel of their first term work (the very first term in the school's history!) to a vast and supportive audience made up of Industry Affiliates, Faculty, potential students and many industry supporters.
The students and faculty did an outstanding job getting ready for the occasion, once again transforming the school, and the now infamous space, "The Hanger", into an elegant and magical viewing and mingling arena. It was spectacular. Check out these images that capture the spirit of the night.
From work demonstrated from Second Life, to the "Crossing" project (short-listed for a Webby), to a beautifully produced behind-the-scenes look at the progress of a major project still underway with the UBC Department of Fisheries, this night was just a glimmer of how much talent, drive and passion lives within these walls. I look forward to the next time when we can all have the pleasure of having another peek into what our future leaders can produce.
